Wolves could pull off major loan-deal for €70m star amid Arsenal and Spurs interest

Wolverhampton Wanderers are very much in the mix to sign Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Lemar, in-part helped by the relationship by the Premier League club’s super-agent Jorge Mendes – according to Mundo Deportivo.

Mendes has been an intermediary in some of Wolves’ and Atletico Madrid’s recent transfer business, including Joao Felix’s move to the Spanish capital last summer, so it’s not so much of a surprise that a ‘good relationship’ with the Spanish club could sweeten a deal.

Atletico Madrid are looking for a permanent transfer, but would be prepared to loan out Thomas Lemar until the summer with a fee to be triggered in the postseason, giving Woves the time to put the funds together.

World Cup winner Thomas Lemar moved to Madrid for around €70 million in 2018 but has failed to deliver this season, last playing 90 minutes of La Liga football back in October 2019.
