West Ham want Lille’s star striker ahead of London rivals Arsenal
West Ham are looking to capitalize on their impressive season to-date by signing a new striker in the January window – one that has been catching the eye of rivals Arsenal.
According to a report in Sports Mole, Lille’s Canadian striker Jonathan David is wanted by the Hammers, and the 21-year-old is also keen on a move to east London.
With 15 goals this season, Jonathan David would provide direct competition and potentially form a partnership with Michail Antonio, leading the Hammers’ front-line.
The report claims the fee could be in excess of £40million, considering the Canadian still has over four-years on his contract.
