West Ham boss wants reunion with trusted midfielder that will split fan opinion

West Ham United manager David Moyes is reportedly looking to sign, for the third-time, Marouane Fellaini in this month’s transfer window – according to Sky Sports.

The 32-year-old Belgian international midfielder is currently on a lucrative deal with Chinese club Shandong Luneng, with two years left on his current £200,000-a-week contract.

New salary cap rules in China mean that no foreign player from this point can earn more than £50,000-a-week, which means Fellaini is unlikely to sign another contract Shandong Luneng – whether he will stay it out or seek a new challenge back in the Premier League remains to be seen.

Moyes worked with Fellaini at Everton and Manchester United, and the midfielder was never far away from fan criticism during his spell at Old Trafford – that negativity is likely to be carried over by Hammers fans who may not be keen to see the club sign a player in the final years of his career.
