Talk of Antoine Griezmann swap deal away from Barca gathers momentum
Antoine Griezmann arrived at Barcelona from Atletico Madrid with much fanfare and expectations, but for one reason or another has failed to deliver the spectacular rewards anticipated by fans.
Now a report in Italian source Calciomercato says that talk of a swap deal that would see the French World Cup winner leave Barcelona in exchange for Juventus’ Paulo Dybala are gathering momentum.
Talks have only just begun and a swap would suit both clubs, but potentially not both players. It’s also said little or no transfer fees will be involved.
The biggest sticking point for the deal to materialise is wages, with Antoine Griezmann on earnings in excess of €20million-a-year, and the Frenchman will be 30 by the summer – which are major issues for Juventus.
With money tight across major clubs, big profile swap deals could be more prevalent this summer, and the Griezmann / Dybala deal is one to watch.
