Jose Mourinho who just started coaching Fenerbahçe in July 2024, straight up called the Ronaldo rumors “ridiculous”. He was like yeah maybe Ronaldo will come check out Istanbul for the food or to see some friends but definitely not to play football here. It’s just another weird thing in Mourinho’s crazy coaching career where he’s been everywhere like AS Roma and Manchester United.

Even though Mourinho totally shut down the Fenerbahçe thing, people still can’t stop talking about where Cristiano Ronaldo might end up next. The guy’s broken like every record ever and won pretty much everything you can win in Europe. There’s always stories going around about him moving somewhere new but Mourinho basically said no way it’s gonna be Fenerbahçe.
Mourinho’s Role in the Süper Lig
Right now Mourinho’s trying to figure out how to handle things at Fenerbahçe in the Turkish Süper Lig. The fans there are super intense and there’s lots of good teams, so it’s like a whole new challenge for him to prove he’s still got it. Fenerbahçe hasn’t been doing so great in the 2024/25 season so Mourinho’s trying to fix things up and use all his experience to make the team better.
