He began his footballing journey with Athletic Club De Villeurbanne before moving to Olympique Lyon’s youth academy in 2009. Aouar’s senior career at Lyon spanned from 2016 to 2023, where he made 179 appearances, netting 30 goals, and providing 25 assists.

In July 2023, he joined AS Roma on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs until June 2028. During his short stint with Roma, he made 16 appearances, scoring 4 goals, and assisting twice. Aouar’s current market value stands at €10 million as of June 2024.
