It could be one of the biggest transfer moves in recent memory, with Real Madrid preparing for a club-record spend of anything between €150-300million – not on deadline day, but next summer.

According to a report via Sky Sports Transfer Centre, Real Madrid are intent on signing Kylian Mbappe from PSG, and feel they can do so for half of the original €300m price-tag, due to the financial situation in football and the player’s contract length.

Real Madrid’s lack of spending this summer and departure of players such as Sergio Reguillion and Gareth Bale are part of a long-term strategy to raise the necessary funds to buy Kylian Mbappe.

If the World Cup winner doesn’t sign a new deal in the near future, he will be available on a free in 2022, but Real Madrid are prepared to payout around €150m next year to land the superstar Frenchman.
