Otamendi’s Role at Benfica
Nicolas Otamendi who’s this really good center-back is super important for Benfica. He just signed to stay longer which means it’s gonna be his fifth year there, he’s played like 148 games and helped win two trophies including winning the Primeira Liga last season in 2022-2023. His defense skills and how he leads the team is really important. Before this he was playing at Manchester City.
Ríos: New Guy in Midfield
Richard Ríos who’s 25 has really quickly became a big deal in Benfica’s midfield. He’s really good at defending and works good with Otamendi’s experience bringing lots of energy. It’s pretty cool how he went from being against him to playing with him which happens a lot in football. While Benfica plays in the Primeira Liga both these guys are gonna be really important if they wanna win stuff.
