Southampton legend James Beattie played a big part in getting fans fired up before the South Coast Derby with some cool t-shirts. The match which is known for being super intense ended up being a tie but man the atmosphere was crazy. Beattie’s Impact on the Derby
James Beattie who everyone knows is like a Southampton football legend got fans super excited before the recent South Coast Derby. He handed out these special t-shirts that Midnite the club’s training kit partner made. The t-shirts were pretty funny showing how Southampton does against Portsmouth and it got everyone feeling that rivalry spirit again. Beattie said about it “I thought the t-shirts were a great idea. They created a great buzz around the game.” Him being involved made Southampton fans really happy and definitely got the Portsmouth fans all worked up too.
Southampton legend James Beattie was on hand to distribute t-shirts to fans ahead of kick-off on Sunday, with the club’s official training kit partner @Midnite creating the shirts to remind Pompey fans of their head-to-head record 👀
Neither side could secure bragging rights on the day, but Beattie was more than happy to poke some fun at his old foes. He said:
“I thought the t-shirts were a great idea. They created a great buzz around the game.
“There’s a lot of buzz obviously around the game. Little things like the t-shirts, they’re great, aren’t they? Fans love it.”

The South Coast Derby between Southampton and Portsmouth isn’t just some regular game it’s like this huge deal that gets everyone really emotional.
