Impact on Club Strategies
Ashworth has changed how lots of clubs work not just England teams. At Brighton & Hove Albion he was really good at getting new players and making the academy better which is kinda like what Manchester United wants to do now. You can see this in how they just got this young kid Diego León from Paraguay cause they want to get good players when they’re young.
Some people say Ashworth used to work at Manchester United as sporting director but there’s no proof of that actually. He mostly worked in jobs where he planned stuff and helped players get better which really changed English football.
Potential Return to the FA
The timing of when Ashworth might come back to the FA is really interesting. In 2025, the FA really wants to make better English coaches and that’s exactly what Ashworth is good at. He did really well with that “England DNA” thing before and now the FA wants to make more good English coaches which is really important if England wants to keep doing well in world football.
