Pep Guardiola the manager of Manchester City has shared his thoughts about the club’s defense saying “I don’t think we need to buy more central defenders because we have a lot”. This comes after City bought two young defenders back in January 2025 which fits with how Guardiola likes to bring up young players that can work in his system.

Manchester City is having to deal with tough teams in the Premier League and Europe right now. But the team is doing good with Guardiola in charge using different tactics and having lots of players to choose from. The fact that Enzo Maresca has support from the people running the club shows things are stable and they’re sticking to their plan.
