Tottenham look to have taken a major step towards bringing in Omar Marmoush, with the forward understood to have signed his contract ahead of the move’s final stages. The deal is expected to begin as a season-long loan from Manchester City before turning into a £60m permanent transfer next year.
- Marmoush is understood to have signed his Tottenham contract as the transfer edges towards completion.
- The switch is expected to start as a season-long loan from Manchester City with an obligation to buy next year.
- The £60m package has been described as £50m guaranteed plus a further £10m in add-ons.
Omar Marmoush’s Tottenham Contract and Deal Structure
Omar Marmoush appears to be closing in on a move to Tottenham Hotspur after signing his contract. It is not yet the same as a completed registration or an official unveiling, with the move still expected to pass through its remaining formal stages.
Tottenham would take Marmoush on a season-long loan from Manchester City first, with an obligation to buy next year worth a total of £60m. Of that figure, £50m is understood to be guaranteed, while £10m would be tied to add-ons.
A longer-term agreement has also been mooted for the permanent stage of the move, with a four-year contract and the option of a further 12 months mentioned as part of that next step.
Manchester City Context and a Route to Regular Football
Marmoush remains officially on the books at Manchester City while the transfer goes through its remaining registration steps. The 27-year-old has made 62 appearances for City and scored 16 goals, but much of his time has been spent providing backup to Erling Haaland rather than as a regular first-choice starter.
League minutes were hard to come by last season, with Marmoush making only eight Premier League starts, and the move would offer him a clearer route to regular football while giving Tottenham added depth in attack.
Their attack was hit by injuries and then drew a blank in a 3-0 defeat to Brentford, so another proven top-level option would add depth even without any guarantee of an immediate starting place.
What Still Needs to Be Formalised
Marmoush still needs to pass his medical before Tottenham can make him available for selection. Once that happens, Spurs will have another attacking option ready to compete for minutes.
