Borussia Dortmund are in a strong position as Felix Nmecha is reportedly drawing attention from Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle United. Any move still looks difficult for now, with Nmecha tied down until 2030 and Dortmund likely to entertain talks only if an exceptional offer arrives.
- Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle United are all keeping tabs on Felix Nmecha.
- Nmecha remains a Borussia Dortmund player and has featured in the club’s opening competitive matches.
- Any talks could require a fee in the region of €100m if Dortmund were willing to engage.
Felix Nmecha’s Current Situation at Borussia Dortmund
Felix Nmecha is still very much part of Borussia Dortmund’s plans at the start of the new season. He started Dortmund’s 3-2 Bundesliga win away to Hoffenheim on 5 September before Joey Veerman replaced him at half-time, and he had also played 74 minutes in the 2-0 league victory over Hamburger SV on 29 August.
He is seen as an important midfield option, capable of working in a box-to-box role and operating as either a No. 8 or a No. 10, so there is no sign of the club treating him as a player they are ready to move on quickly.
Premier League Interest in Felix Nmecha
Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle United are all in the frame as Premier League clubs tracking Nmecha’s situation, but nothing at this stage points to an advanced deal. United appear to be the most persistent of the three and could have made initial contact with Dortmund over possible discussions, while City’s interest carries an obvious connection as Nmecha came through the club’s academy before building his career in Germany.
Newcastle are also being linked with Nmecha, although the more aggressive claims around their interest remain speculative for now. A player-plus-cash proposal involving Nick Woltemade has been mentioned, but there is still no confirmed sign that Dortmund are engaged in a serious transfer process with any of the interested English clubs.
Dortmund’s Position and Nmecha’s Future Prospects
Borussia Dortmund hold the stronger hand here because Nmecha’s contract runs until the summer of 2030. That gives the club little reason to rush into discussions, and it also helps explain why any potential negotiations would reportedly only start around the €100m mark rather than at a standard market valuation.
Dortmund are also expected to resist any winter move. Premier League interest could keep Nmecha’s name in the conversation over the coming months, but a genuine breakthrough would still depend on Dortmund softening their stance and one of those clubs deciding to make an extraordinary offer.
