Manchester City have confirmed Gerónimo Rulli’s arrival from Marseille on a two-year deal until 2028, with the move subject to international clearance. - Gerónimo Rulli has joined Manchester City from Marseille on a two-year deal running until 2028.
- The signing is official but remains subject to international clearance.
- He arrives after regular first-team football at Marseille, including 29 Ligue 1 appearances and eight Champions League outings in 2025.
Manchester City’s Goalkeeping Addition
Manchester City are bringing in a goalkeeper who has been playing regularly at a high level ahead of the new campaign. Rulli started all 29 of his Ligue 1 matches for Marseille in 2025, kept eight clean sheets and made 77 saves, while also starting eight Champions League games.
Rulli has made it pretty clear why the move appealed to him. He said the people he spoke to told him he had to join City because of the club’s extremely high standards, and he also spoke about his admiration for the club’s style of play.
Rulli’s Marseille Record
Rulli leaves Marseille after two full seasons of steady first-team work. Across 73 appearances in all competitions, he kept 14 clean sheets and conceded 99 goals, giving City a keeper who arrives with plenty of recent match rhythm rather than a long spell on the sidelines.
He made 63 Ligue 1 appearances across 2024 and 2025, underlining how regularly Marseille relied on him.
What the Move Means for City
Rulli also said Julián Álvarez gave the move his full approval. Once the international clearance process is completed, he can get started at Manchester City.
