Stefan Bajčetić Nears Celta Vigo Move as Personal Terms Progress

Celta Vigo are moving closer to an agreement with Stefan Bajčetić over personal terms, but the proposed move from Liverpool still has a couple of important steps to clear before it can be viewed as a done deal. Medical clearance remains the immediate issue, and Liverpool still have a decision to make once that stage is resolved.

  • Personal terms between Celta Vigo and Stefan Bajčetić are reportedly close.
  • Bajčetić is awaiting clearance after travelling to Finland to see the specialist who operated on his hamstring.
  • Celta could initially use him with Celta Fortuna as he rebuilds his fitness.

Stefan Bajcetic’s Current Situation

Stefan Bajčetić is still contracted to Liverpool at this stage, even with Celta Vigo pushing towards an agreement over personal terms for a proposed move. Progress with the player does not yet mean the transfer itself is complete, and no club-to-club agreement, transfer type, fee or contract package has been confirmed.

Bajčetić has reportedly travelled to Finland for further checks with the specialist who previously operated on his hamstring, and he is waiting for medical clearance before the process can move forward properly. Until that green light arrives, this remains an advanced situation regarding personal terms rather than a finalised transfer.

What Still Needs to Be Finalised

Medical clearance is the first practical hurdle, after which Liverpool would still need to decide how to proceed.

Celta could use the move as a controlled route back into competitive football rather than throwing him straight into a guaranteed first-team role. An initial pathway through Celta Fortuna is one option while he rebuilds his fitness, with a possible later route into Claudio Giráldez’s senior squad if everything progresses well.

Bajcetic’s Return Could Reset His Career

A switch to Celta would be a homecoming move. Bajčetić came through the Galician club’s youth ranks before joining Liverpool’s academy in December 2020, so a return now could offer a familiar setting at a moment when he needs rhythm more than hype.

His recent path has been disrupted, with spells at RB Salzburg and Las Palmas followed by a hamstring injury that required surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation. Even so, he has recent first-team experience across La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Champions League, which is why a managed return at Celta could potentially act as a useful reset rather than just another stop in the market.
