David Moyes has come back to Everton FC as manager and he’s got his work cut out trying to fix a team that’s really struggling. He took over in January 2025 after Sean Dyche left, and his main job is keeping the team from going down. The team’s only won three times in 20 games this season so Moyes says they really need some new players up front to start scoring more goals.

  • Moyes says they desperately need new attacking players
  • The Friedkin Group buying Everton means there’s probably money to spend
  • The club’s finances look good enough to help Moyes get new players

Moyes’ Return to Everton

David Moyes who’s been around the Premier League for ages, is back at Everton FC where he did really well before. He’s pretty good at sorting teams out and now he’s gotta fix this team that’s playing terrible. When he was here before, he got Everton five of their seven best finishes in the Premier League which is pretty impressive. You can check out more about how he did as a manager at West Ham United’s performance during his tenure.

The Need for New Signings

Since coming back Moyes keeps saying they need new players who can actually score goals. I mean the team hasn’t scored in nine of their last 11 games which is really bad. Moyes was pretty honest saying he can’t just wave a magic wand – they need to buy some decent players to turn things around. Now that the Friedkin Group owns the club maybe they’ll give him the money to get some good players in.

Support from New Ownership

Having the Friedkin Group as new owners is really important for what Moyes wants to do. They even showed up to his first game which shows they’re pretty serious about backing him up. They now own 94% of Everton so things might finally start looking up for the club. It’s kinda cool seeing Moyes back at Everton but there’s also a real plan behind it. With all his experience and the new owners backing him up he’s trying to get Everton away from the bottom of the table and back to being a decent team again. It’s gonna be tough but at least there’s some hope now for all the Everton fans.
