Mathis Amougou Joins Chelsea in a Strategic Move

Chelsea has went ahead and signed 19-year-old French midfielder Mathis Amougou from Saint-Etienne for €15 million. This move shows how the club wants to grow young talents by using loans and long contracts mixing experienced players with new ones to build for the future.

Chelsea FC have made a big move getting Mathis Amougou, a really good 19-year-old midfielder from Saint-Etienne. The deal which transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said was true, costs €15 million and shows Chelsea really wants young players. They gave him a long contract which shows they want to help young players grow by putting money into future stars.


Chelsea’s been doing this a lot lately getting young players and either putting them in the first team right away or sending them on loan. They might send Amougou to Strasbourg which is like Chelsea’s brother club so he can play more and get better.

How Mathis Amougou Got Here

Mathis Amougou has been really good in Ligue 1, playing 17 games for Saint-Etienne this season. Big clubs noticed how good he was and now he’s at Chelsea. He plays for France’s youth teams too and is really good in midfield doing lots of different things. He’s kind of like Cole Palmer who came to Chelsea and has done really well.

Getting Amougou shows how Chelsea wants to build a team with both old and young players. They help players like him get better by sending them on loan and having older players teach them stuff.
