Manchester United has stopped going after Brighton & Hove Albion’s amazing midfielder Carlos Baleba because Brighton wants too much money for him. The 21-year-old from Cameroon has been really good for Brighton and lots of big clubs want him including United. But Brighton won’t budge on the price which made United back off.
- Brighton wants more than £100 million (€120 million) for Baleba
- Manchester United is looking at other players cause they can’t spend that much
- Baleba is super important for Brighton’s midfield right now
Brighton Really Wants to Keep Baleba
Brighton really doesn’t want to sell Carlos Baleba cause they want to do well in the Premier League. Since he came from Lille in 2023 he played 77 games scored 4 goals and helped with 2 more. He’s gotten way better which means he’s worth a lot more now and Brighton knows it.
Manager Fabian Hurzeler thinks they can keep Baleba especially since Brighton’s been playing real good lately. If you want to know more about how Brighton’s doing and how they play check out the Premier League updates.

Money Problems for Manchester United
Manchester United really wants a good midfielder like Baleba but Brighton wants too much money. The club has to be careful with how much they spend and make sure they don’t waste money on players that might not help them in the future.
What’s Going On With Transfers
United giving up on getting Baleba is just one of the things happening with transfers right now. Here’s some other stuff going on:
- Brighton & Hove Albion: Brighton trying to keep their best players while everyone in the Premier League wants them.
- Manchester United: Trying to get good players without spending too much money.
The way clubs handle their money and decide which players to buy or sell shows how crazy and competitive football transfers are these days.
