Amadou Onana has pulled out of Belgium’s national team cause of fitness issues which is pretty big news for his club and country. The midfielder who just moved to Aston Villa from Everton is going to work on getting better and ready for games coming up. This whole thing shows how hard it is for national teams when their main players can’t play.
- Onana’s heading back to Aston Villa to sort out his fitness stuff.
- Belgium’s national team is going to struggle without him.
- Other national teams been dealing with this kind of thing too lately.
Onana’s Transfer and Role at Aston Villa
Amadou Onana moving from Everton to Aston Villa in July 2024 was huge for Villa. They paid like £50 million for him which shows they really wanted to make the team better. He’s played 10 times in the Premier League since he got there, being on the field for 547 minutes. He hasn’t scored or helped score any goals yet but he’s been really good at defending and doesn’t foul much or get red cards. People reckon he’s worth about €55 million now which shows what everyone thinks he can do.

Impact on Aston Villa’s Strategy
With Onana coming back early, Villa’s got some stuff to figure out but also some good chances. The medical team’s going to try get him fit quick for the next games. It also shows Villa’s got lots of good players like Morgan Rogers who’s doing really well. Rogers even got picked for England which shows how good the players at Villa Park are, and gives Unai Emery lots of different ways to set up the team. While Onana’s getting better Villa’s trying to keep doing well in the Premier League.
Belgium’s National Team and Recent Challenges
Belgium’s team is going to have a hard time without Onana cause he’s really important in midfield. Him having to leave is like when Jarrad Branthwaite had to go back to Everton from England U21s. This stuff keeps happening to national teams when players aren’t fit enough to play.
