William Troost-Ekong really looks up to Thierry Henry a French football legend who was amazing at scoring goals. Henry started at AS Monaco then went to Juventus and then became a huge star at Arsenal where he scored like 174 goals which is still the most at the club. His time at Arsenal made him one of the best ever in the Premier League. After that he did really good at Barcelona and won three trophies in 2009. Henry also won the World Cup in 1998 and won the European Championship in 2000. After he stopped playing he became a coach and helped Belgium get third place in the 2018 World Cup which was pretty good.

Vincent Kompany: Leadership and Strategy
Vincent Kompany is really good at leading teams and knowing what to do on the field which Troost-Ekong really likes about him. Kompany started playing at Anderlecht where he got really good, then he went to Hamburg and ended up at Manchester City. At City he became super important and helped them win lots of Premier League titles. Now Kompany is doing good as a manager at Burnley and everyone thinks he’s really smart about football. His first year at Burnley shows how good he is at getting players to do their best.
Troost-Ekong’s Career and Inspirations
As the captain of Nigeria William Troost-Ekong has done pretty good himself. He’s played for lots of teams in Europe including Udinese in Italy and now he plays for Al-Khulood in Saudi Arabia. The way he looks up to Henry and Kompany shows how much he thinks about what they did in football and how they helped him become better. When he’s been captain Nigeria has done some good stuff like getting third place at the 2016 Olympics and coming third in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
