Sunderland’s impressive run in the EFL Championship has really caught everyone by surprise this season. Nobody thought they’d do much and expected them to finish 21st but the Black Cats proved everyone wrong and got themselves a 4th place finish with Regis Le Bris in charge. They really showed everyone what they could do and shut up the critics. Even though the end of the season was pretty tough they stuck it out and managed to get into the play-offs.
- Sunderland was supposed to finish 21st in the league.
- They got 4th place with Regis Le Bris.
- They did great because of good management and the players stepping up.
Sunderland’s Unexpected Success
What Sunderland done in the EFL Championship this season is pretty amazing tbh. With Regis Le Bris running things, the team has done way better than anyone thought they would and got 4th place. Shows how good they really are when you think about how Opta said they only had like 0.9% chance of finishing in the top four before the season started.

Key Players and Strategic Management
The way things turned around for Sunderland is mostly because of how good Regis Le Bris has been running things and how well the main players have stepped up. It’s really shows what they can do when they put their minds to it. Sunderland makes the Championship way more interesting this year along with teams like Burnley and Birmingham City who’ve also been playing really good.

Nobody expected Sunderland to do so well and it’s made the Championship way more interesting this season. You got teams like Burnley going back up to the Premier League, and Coventry City getting better since Frank Lampard took over it’s been full of surprises and really good performances.
