Solihull Moors have made a big move by bringing in Chris Millington as their new First Team Manager. The former FC Halifax Town boss is going to bring his way of doing things and winning mindset to the club. Millington’s done really well before, winning the 2023 FA Trophy and getting to the National League playoffs, which shows he knows how to get teams winning.

  • Chris Millington got FC Halifax Town to win the 2023 FA Trophy.
  • Andy Cooper is coming in as Assistant Manager after working at Leeds United’s academy.
  • Millington is taking over after Matt Taylor left in September.

Chris Millington’s Appointment

Solihull Moors have said Chris Millington is their new manager which starts something new for the club. When he was at FC Halifax Town he did some really good stuff like winning the 2023 FA Trophy at Wembley and getting them to finish 7th in the National League. The way he does things should make things different at Solihull Moors.

Millington’s coming in because Matt Taylor left back in September. The chairman Darryl Eales is really happy about how Millington thinks about football and how it matches what the club wants to do. This kind of thing is happening a lot in football right now with lots of clubs changing managers.

The New Leadership Team

Andy Cooper is coming in too as Assistant Manager. Cooper’s done loads of different things in football like working with young players at Leeds United academy and going abroad to work at ASPIRE Academy in Qatar and Punjab FC. Him and Millington should work well together to help Solihull Moors do better in the National League.

The new managers are going to work with James Quinn whose already coaching there to get everyone working together well and to get the fans and everyone at the club excited. Getting Millington isn’t just about having a new manager it’s about trying to make the team better and wanting to win more.

Broader Implications in Football Management

Getting Chris Millington to come to Solihull Moors shows how important it is when clubs change managers. While other teams like Shrewsbury Town are doing different things with new managers, Solihull Moors picked Millington cause he’s done good before and knows how he wants his teams to play football. Everyone thinks he can make Solihull Moors do really well.
