Congleton Town’s manager Richard Duffy is getting real close to hitting 200 games in charge. Being both a player and manager, Duffy’s used what he learned on the field to help the team do some pretty amazing stuff, like winning both the Midland League Premier Division and the Midland League Cup in 2023-24. Richard Duffy’s Football Journey
Born in Swansea Wales, Richard Duffy started out with Swansea City’s youth team and then went on to play for teams like Portsmouth, Coventry City and Port Vale. He played more than 400 games as a pro, and was pretty good at playing both right-back and center-back. One of his best moments was when he helped Port Vale get promoted in 2012-13, which really showed everyone how good he was.

When Duffy took over at Congleton Town in 2021, you could see he knew what he was doing. He showed what he could do when the team won both the league and cup in 2023-24.
