Miguel Azeez has come back to English football by joining Morecambe FC after getting experience in Spain and Greece. The 22-year-old midfielder who started at Arsenal’s Hale End academy has signed a one-year contract with the National League side and will wear the number eight shirt. This move happens as Morecambe FC starts rebuilding after being taken over by Punjab Warriors.

Azeez’s Return to English Football
Miguel Azeez chose Morecambe FC because he knew manager Ashvir Singh Johal from when he coached him at Wigan Athletic. Johal thinks Azeez is really good and says fans will love him. Azeez is happy to be back in England and wants to help Morecambe get back to the English Football League.

Azeez started out at Arsenal signing his first contract in 2019 and played his first game against Dundalk in 2020 in the Europa League. Even though things looked good he wanted to play more so he went on loan to Portsmouth and UD Ibiza then moved permanently to Atlético Baleares and PAS Giannina.
Morecambe FC’s Rebuilding Strategy
Morecambe FC is at a real important time right now trying to get promoted. The club only had five players left before the new owners came in so they had to get lots of new players quick. Azeez is the 13th new player they got which shows they really want to make a good team.
Other teams have done similar stuff like Amersham Town FC when players left and Macclesfield FC did really good with Robbie Savage in charge. Morecambe wants to do good like them and thinks Azeez can help them do well in non-league football.
Influences and Aspirations
When he thinks back Azeez says Arsenal’s academy helped make him the player and person he is. Training with big players like David Luiz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made him better. Now that Morecambe FC is trying to build something big getting Azeez back is really important for trying to get promoted.
