Even though the team wasn’t doing great at first Appleton got lots of praise for changing how they play and got his first win against Barnsley. From his time managing Lincoln City and Oxford United before he’s learned a lot about what it takes to lead Shrewsbury Town into what’s next.

Appleton wants Shrewsbury Town to play football that’s nice to watch and the fans seem to like what they’ve seen so far. Him and his assistant Richard O’Donnell are working hard to build a team that gets people excited and does well next season. The time he spent as temporary manager helped him see what works and what needs fixing with the team. Even though it’s not all easy Appleton thinks good things are coming for the club.

Appleton getting his contract sorted comes while there’s lots of other stuff happening at Shrewsbury Town like talks about new owners taking over. All these changes show the club wants to go in a new direction and get better.
