Jorge Sampaoli has done pretty good in his managing career. He got real big with Universidad de Chile winning three league titles and the Copa Sudamericana in 2011. He did great with Chile’s national team too getting them their first Copa América win in 2015. When he went to Europe he managed Sevilla FC and Olympique de Marseille which made him even more well known. In Brazil he was in charge of both Santos FC and Atlético Mineiro and did really well. Him not going back to Santos FC kinda fits with how he usually makes choices to keep his coaching the way he wants it.
