Gareth Southgate was England’s national football team manager from 2016 to 2024 and he really changed things. He took over when Sam Allardyce left and helped make the team better and changed how they played. While he was boss England got to the 2018 World Cup semifinals and the Euro 2020 final which made English fans feel good again. He managed 102 games and won 62, drew 20 and lost 20. He left after losing to Spain in the Euro 2024 final cause he wanted something different and thought the team needed a change too. What Southgate did best was getting fans to like the team again and helping young players get better which looks good for England’s future.


Thomas Tuchel’s Appointment

Thomas Tuchel who’s really good with tactics, is now gonna be England’s manager after Southgate. Tuchel has done really well before at Chelsea and Bayern Munich and even won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021. People think he’ll make England play better cause he knows how to work with really good players and can change how the team plays when they need to. Tuchel likes his teams to be really good at defending and attacking quick which could help England do better in big tournaments.

The Future of English Football Management

While the Football Association looks for someone to replace Southgate permanently people are talking about Eddie Howe Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino maybe getting the job. The FA wants to make sure everything goes smooth and might get someone temporary if they need to. It’s a really important time for England and they need to keep doing well like they did with Southgate. At the same time teams like Arsenal and Manchester United are changing things too, like how Mikel Arteta is doing things different at Arsenal and how Rúben Amorim really likes Mason Mount at Manchester United. English football is changing a lot and everyone thinks helping young players get better is really important for doing well in the future.
