Sport Club do Recife has made a big change by letting go head coach Daniel Paulista. They did this because the club is having trouble staying in Brasileirão Série A, where Paulista didn’t get the team playing good enough. The club is now looking for someone new to help them do better and not get relegated.
- Daniel Paulista got fired from being head coach of Sport Club do Recife
- The team wasn’t playing good in the Brasileirão Série A
- The club wants to find a new head coach to make them better.
Problems With Daniel Paulista
Daniel Paulista’s second time as head coach which started in June 2025 had a lot of problems. The team only won two times all season which put them at the bottom of everyone else. Even though they tried hard sometimes they couldn’t turn games they tied into wins which really hurt them. When he was in charge Sport Recife had big problems, especially scoring goals and stopping other teams from scoring. In 26 games they only got 20 goals but let in 41 goals which is really bad.
CAIU! Daniel Paulista não é mais técnico do Sport!

This kind of thing happens at other clubs too like when Al-Hilal switched from Jorge Jesus to Mohammed Al-Shalhoub. It’s pretty normal in football when teams need to change things up to get better.
What’s Next for Sport Club do Recife
Now that Daniel Paulista is gone Sport Club do Recife can get someone new. The people running the club are trying to find a head coach who can help them not get relegated. In Brazilian football getting a new manager can sometimes make things way better like what happened with Flamengo when they started using more young players with Filipe Luís. While the club tries to get better and win more, they gotta understand how the league works just like teams such as Athletico Paranaense Bahia and Botafogo who had similar problems.
Sport Recife really needs to find someone who can make the players believe in themselves and win more games. They really need someone strong to lead them and do things different since Brazilian football is really hard to win in.
