Colchester’s Offensive Display
Colchester United showed what they can do going forward in their 2-0 win over Gillingham. Lyle Taylor got them going early scoring after 6 minutes when he put away the ball after Jack Payne’s shot wasn’t held. That early goal really showed how well Colchester was playing up front.

Later in the game John-Kymani Gordon came on as a sub and got himself a goal. He scored with 5 minutes left after Gillingham’s Shad Ogie made a mistake at the back. The goal showed how good Gordon is when he gets his chance and pointed out the problems Gillingham was having in defense.
Managerial Tactics and Player Contributions
Gillingham’s manager Mark Bonner didn’t change his team hoping they’d play like before. But even when he tried different things during the game his team just couldn’t get through Colchester’s defense. On the other hand Colchester’s manager used his players real good with guys like Owura Edwards causing lots of problems for Gillingham’s defense.
