Newcastle’s owners want three Serie A stars to reshape Magpies

Newcastle’s new owners have reportedly honed in on reshaping the Tyneside club with a raft of talent from Italy’s Serie A, with at least three major names targeted in 2022.

Federico Chiesa, 23, centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, 22, and midfielder Franck Kessie, 24 are the marque names being linked with a move to the now rich Premier League side – all three would signify a major shift in direction that the Saudi owners would surely want to promote.

AC Milan’s Kessie is currently in dispute with his club over a new contract, which ends in 2022, and Newcastle are well-placed to offer him lucrative terms to be one of the first major arrivals.

Italy’s Euro winning star Federico Chiesa won’t come cheap – Juventus would surely be resistant to selling a key player, while Matthijs de Ligt has a release clause of €150m that is active as of next summer – according to a report via Football Italia.
