Newcastle fans shock as club mulls over sale of star player
Newcastle United are expected to make some significant transfer moves this summer, but fans of the Magpies will be stunned by news that their star man could be sold over a wage rise dispute.
Allan Saint-Maximin could be allowed to the club in the summer, that is according to a report via 90min. The Frenchman has over four year remaining on his contract, but it’s said he wants a pay rise to reflect his importance and in response to the club becoming the richest in world football.
Selling a fan favourite would do nothing to help the rapport between the fans which is seemingly at a high after the takeover and a run of form which has seen the Magpies move away from immediate danger of relegation.
The report claims that the two clubs that could swoop, should Newcastle sell Allan Saint-Maximin, are Wolves and lowly-Everton – with the latter’s chances dependent on staying in the Premier League.
