Manchester United ‘fail’ in first bid to sign England defender
Manchester United have once again come up short in the transfer market, having failed to yet meet Dortmund’s price for Jadon Sancho, they’ve now reportedly come up short in a bid to sign Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier.
The England defender is wanted by Man Utd this summer to offer stronger competition at right full-back, but their opening offer has been flat out rejected by the La Liga champions – according to the Guardian.
Atletico want €40million for the 30-year-old, who impressed in England’s victory over Croatia last Sunday and was key to the Spanish club’s league title-winning success.
Despite finishing second in the Premier League and securing Champions League football once again, United once again appear to be prudent buyers in the transfer window, with fans hoping it won’t be a case of missed opportunities once again.
