Man Utd ‘overcome major hurdle’ to seal a third transfer on deadline day

Manchester United will at least have Monday’s deadline day to try and patch over the weekend’s 6-1 thumping by Spurs, and good news for fans is that on top of the arrivals of Cavani and Telles, a third player is set to join.

Facundo Pellistri, currently at Uruguayan club Atletico Penarol, has reportedly agreed a five-year contract with Manchester United – via TEAMtalk.

The 18-year-old winger is highly-rated in his homeland and has become a regular in the senior side since 2019.

United and Atletico Penarol has been deadlocked in negotiating when Pellistri would arrive, with the Uruguayans wanting him to stay until January, but it appears the Premier League side have convinced them to sell now.

Pellistri’s signing would see him link up with his fellow countryman Edinson Cavani, who will sign a two-year deal at Old Trafford.
