Man City reportedly set to smash their transfer record spend on defender
In news developing on Monday, Manchester City are ramping up a big bit of transfer business with a potential club record transfer.
A report in the Express claims that Pep Guardiola’s side are lining up an £82million bid for Atletico Madrid defender Jose Maria Gimenez.
It’s said that City’s sporting director Txiki Beguiristain has been in-talks with Atletico officials and an agreement on a transfer fee is close, in what would be a Man City record.
Gimenez has been at Atletico since 2013 and the 25-year-old Uruguayan defender is highly-rated in La Liga.
Rodri remains City’s record transfer at just over £60million.
