Man City reportedly ‘closing in’ on £75m Barcelona asset
Seemingly out of nowhere Manchester City have emerged as the next likely destination for Barcelona’s star midfield asset Frenkie de Jong – that is via the Sun, taken from Spanish source El Chiringuito.
Barcelona’s financial struggles have left them vulnerable to transfer poaching and Frenkie de Jong is unsurprisingly one of the most sought after in the Catalan’s XI.
Manchester City are primed to pounce with a bid in the region of £75million for the 24-year-old Dutchman, with Barcelona ready to cash-in and relieve some pressure financially.
Frankie de Jong was signed for £65m in 2019 from Ajax.
