Evander started playing with the Portland Timbers at the start of 2023 and he’s become really important getting like 0.53 assists every 90 minutes this season. If he goes to FC Dallas, it could really change how the team plays as they try to get better for upcoming games.
The Impact of the Cash Trade Rule
The new cash trade rule in MLS is changing everything about how teams buy and sell players. Teams can now trade players for money which makes it easier for players to move around and teams to compete. Like with Evander maybe moving for €14 million, it shows how this rule is changing things.
Evander started at Vasco da Gama and got really good at FC Midtjylland which makes him someone any MLS team would want. If you want to know more about what’s happening in MLS, check out the Major League Soccer Overview.
Portland Timbers and MLS Implications
For Portland Timbers losing Evander would be a big deal. Since he joined the team he’s been super important in midfield. The Timbers are gonna have to look around to find someone to replace him if he leaves.
What’s happening with Evander is kinda like what happened with Leonardo Campana when he went to New England Revolution. With teams using the cash trade rule more and more MLS is gonna see lots of interesting player moves.
