According to sports journalist Tom Bogert the club hasn’t shown any real interest or even talked about getting the Portuguese defender. This goes against earlier reports that said he might move to the Major League Soccer (MLS) team.

Even though people were talking about it FC Dallas isn’t trying to get Mario Rui. The Portuguese left-back who’s done really good in Europe was supposed to be coming to the MLS club. But Tom Bogert’s tweet makes it clear that FC Dallas never really talked about it or showed they wanted him.

Mario Rui who was born in Sines Portugal has played for big European teams like Benfica Parma and Empoli before doing really well at Napoli. He helped Napoli win Serie A in 2022-23 and the Coppa Italia in 2019-20. He also helped Portugal win the UEFA Nations League in 2018-19.
