Wilfried Nancy has taken Columbus Crew to an amazing season, getting him the 2024 Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year award. With him in charge, the Crew broke records in points and goals and got their best league spot since 2009. Everyone’s been talking about how good Nancy’s tactics are, and it’s his first time winning Coach of the Year and the first time a Crew coach got it since 2008.

Wilfried Nancy’s amazing coaching career got even better when he won the 2024 Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year. He joined Columbus Crew in December 2022 and made the team really good. He was super important in Columbus winning the Leagues Cup 2024 and getting to the Concacaf Champions Cup final which shows how good he is at tactics and getting players motivated.

Nancy did even better because of smart player pickups like getting DeJuan Jones from New England Revolution. They had to do this complicated trade with Will Sands and maybe up to $600,000 in General Allocation Money. These deals show how good the Crew’s management is with money and how much they want to make the team better which really helped them do so good.
A Legacy of Excellence
Nancy getting this award shows how good he is at coaching and it’s the first time someone from Columbus Crew won it since Sigi Schmid back in 2008. The way they picked the winner, with MLS club technical staff media and players all voting shows how everyone thinks Nancy did great. Before this he was at CF Montreal where he showed he knows how to make teams better.
