The Colorado Rapids are looking to make a big move for their team by trying to sign Rob Holding from Crystal Palace. Even though he’s got a contract with Crystal Palace until 2026, Holding isn’t really playing with the first team anymore. This could be a good chance for the Rapids to make their defense better with Holding’s experience from playing in the Premier League.

  • Colorado Rapids are leading the race to sign Rob Holding.
  • Holding’s current contract with Crystal Palace lasts until 2026.
  • Crystal Palace is open to negotiating Holding’s departure for a nominal fee.

Colorado Rapids Target Rob Holding

The Colorado Rapids really want to make their defense stronger and they think Rob Holding from Crystal Palace could help them do that. Holding has been stuck training with the under-21 team after him and manager Oliver Glasner had some problems, but the Rapids think he’d be really good for them cause he’s played a lot in the Premier League and Championship.

The fact that Kroenke Sports & Entertainment owns both Arsenal and the Colorado Rapids might help get this deal done since Holding used to play for Arsenal. He could be a good leader for the Rapids who are doing pretty good right now and might make the playoffs in the MLS Western Conference.

Crystal Palace’s Stance on Holding’s Transfer

Crystal Palace seems like they’d let Holding go without asking for too much money which is good news for the Rapids who really want to improve their defense. Holding has played 162 games for Arsenal and was also at Sheffield United for a bit, so he knows what he’s doing and could help any team get better.

Even though some other teams like Sheffield United want him too the Rapids seem to be the ones most likely to get him. This is kinda like what we’re seeing more of in MLS where more players from other countries want to come play here.

Impact of Holding’s Potential Move

If they can get this deal done it could really help the Rapids do better in the MLS playoffs. More and more players from Europe are thinking about coming to play in America and Holding might be the next one. Everyone who follows soccer is waiting to see what happens with this deal that could really change things for the Rapids.
