Dax McCarty’s time in Major League Soccer (MLS) was really something special. Born in Winter Park Florida McCarty just finished playing at Atlanta United FC which is just a few miles from where he grew up. The midfielder made his mark in the league and everyone knew him as someone you could count on and who led by example. Playing 523 games and starting 460 of them McCarty stuck around for almost 20 years showing how tough and good he was. He made it to the playoffs in 14 seasons out of 19 which shows how good he was at the highest level.

Career Milestones and Achievements
During his time playing McCarty was super important for all his teams. He started with FC Dallas then played big roles at D.C. United, New York Red Bulls Chicago Fire FC Nashville SC and finally Atlanta United FC. His time with the New York Red Bulls was really special where he was team captain and helped them win two Supporters’ Shields in 2013 and 2015. McCarty was named to MLS Best XI and was an All-Star in 2015. Everyone saw what a great leader he was at Chicago Fire FC where he started pretty much every game which made everyone see him as one of the most reliable midfielders in MLS.
Final Chapter at Atlanta United FC
McCarty ended his career at Atlanta United FC joining as a free agent in 2024. It’s kind of perfect that he finished near his hometown.
