Liverpool warned they’ll have to pay €40million to land Wijnaldum replacement

As the days and weeks go by, it seems Liverpool are resigned to losing midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum on a free transfer, with the Dutchman’s contract set to expire in the summer.

A reported top target to replace the midfielder is Rodrigo de Paul, a former target for Leeds United, but the Udinese man’s price-tag could be a struggle to negotiate for the Reds.

Udinese will demand at least €40million for the Argentine, but Liverpool are looking to start talks around the €30-35million price-range.

In a quote carried in TEAMtalk, Udinese’s director Pierpaolo Marino stated that, “it takes a lot of money to get them [players from his club including Rodrigo de Paul], but it’s not like we went looking for potential buyers.”
