Liverpool leading the way to sign £40m-rated midfielder as rivals ‘drop out’
Liverpool bid farewell in Sunday’s final Premier League game to midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum and now reportedly have their sights firmly set on a replacement for the Dutchman.
A report in the Daily Mail claims that Brighton’s Yves Bissouma is very much the sole focus for Jurgen Klopp, but they’ll have to come close to the £40million that the Seagulls want for their 24-year-old star.
The Mali international has been an important presence for Brighton and had been a target for rivals Arsenal, but the report suggests they’ve dropped out of the running to seek alternative transfers.
Bissouma is contracted until 2023 and Brighton will certainly not be looking to let their midfield asset leave easily this summer.
