Liverpool and Man Utd do battle to sign £60m-rated England star
Fresh off the back of a 5-0 drubbing of Man Utd, Liverpool are set to go head-to-head with their main rivals once again – this time in the transfer market.
According to a report via the Star, both United and Liverpool wannt to bring in the experienced and impressive Kalvin Phillips from a struggling Leeds United.
The battle to sign Kalvin Phillips from Leeds is expected to become a ‘priority next summer’ for the two Premier League rivals, with such a deal looking virtually impossible in the January window due to the midfielder’s importance to the Yorkshire side’s fight for top-flight status.
Liverpool would appear to be in pole position due to their form and certainty around the manager, unlike Man Utd, whose manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is seemingly on borrowed time.
