Leicester City reportedly braced for surprising €40m bid from Barcelona
Leicester City are reportedly bracing themselves for a 40m euro offer from Barcelona in the coming weeks, but will hope to use the bid as a pathway to landing 20-year-old forward Francisco Trincao from the former Spanish champions.
The report via the Leicester Mercury claims that Barcelona want to pay around 40m euro on defender Caglar Soyuncu, who was particularly impressive in the first half of the Premier League season.
Soyuncu stepped into the gap left by Harry Maguire, who departed for Man Utd last summer, and although the Turkish defender has done admirably, a move to Barcelona will raise some eyebrows.
Leicester could use such a deal to ensure they land Portuguese wonderkid Francisco Trincao on a two-year loan, but Brendan Rodgers’ side also want to add an option to buy clause, which could prove to be the sticking point.
