Leeds, Derby, Brentford and German clubs keen on Brighton academy star
Brighton are set to face a transfer window battle to hold on to one of their top performing U23 stars, with the likes of Leeds, Derby and RB Leipzig keen.
18-year-old Haydon Roberts has a handful of England youth caps and featured once this season for the senior squad, playing 90 minutes in the club’s Third Round EFL Cup defeat to Aston Villa.
The Telegraph report that Leeds could be a leading candidate, having taken Ben White from the Seagulls this season, to much success, and another deal for Roberts could be in the offing.
Brentford may yet have a say, should they clinch promotion to the top-flight, but German clubs like RB Leipzig and Mainz could come into play, with a track record of English talent heading to the Bundesliga and getting plenty of game time e.g. Jadon Sancho, Jonjoe Kenny, Reece Oxford etc.
