Ben White is a player the club and the fans at Leeds want to see remain at Elland Road for their Premier League return, but apparently a raft of big names will be battling for his signature.

Leeds chief executive Angus Kinnear spoke after Leeds’ promotion back to the Premier League about some of their summer transfer plans and was keen to note the situation around Brighton defender Ben White won’t be straightforward;

“Ben is going to be hugely sought after.”

“It’s one of the risks of the type of deal we did. I know supporters will wonder why there wasn’t an option to buy him but Brighton weren’t prepared to do that.”

Brighton appear keen to see the 22-year-old defender return to them this summer and be part of their plans, but whether Leeds can stump up the cash to entice the Seagulls to sell remains to be seen.

“He loves his teammates and knows he will get game time under Marcelo, so we have a small advantage. Ultimately, we are going to be fighting with some big names for his signature,” Kinnear is reported as saying via the Yorkshire Post.
