Real Sociedad’s sporting director, Roberto Olabe has announced he’s gonna leave the club when this season ends. Olabe has been super important in making Real Sociedad one of the best-run clubs in Europe and they even won the Copa del Rey in 2021. He’s done really good with player transfers like getting Martin Ødegaard and Mikel Merino to Arsenal and Alexander Isak to Newcastle United which turned out great. When Olabe leaves it’s gonna be like the end of an era for the club.

  • Roberto Olabe will leave Real Sociedad at the end of the season.
  • His tenure included a Copa del Rey win and key player transfers.
  • Olabe’s exit marks a significant change for Real Sociedad.

Real Sociedad’s Transition

While Real Sociedad gets ready for Olabe to leave the club is gonna have to deal with a lot of changes. Olabe has been really good at running things especially with helping young players develop and getting good deals on transfers. Now that he’s leaving it’s definitely gonna affect how the club moves forward and handles things.

Arsenal’s Leadership Changes

At the same time Arsenal’s dealing with their own changes in leadership. Edu Gaspar who was the sporting director just quit to go work with Nottingham Forest’s multiclub setup. Edu started working at Arsenal in 2019 and did some big things like signing Declan Rice for a ton of money in 2023. Now that he’s gone Arsenal needs to figure out who’s gonna take over his job.

Arsenal’s got other problems too besides leadership stuff cause they got some injured players. Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice might not be able to play which is gonna mess up the teams plans. Martin Ødegaard is hurt too and can’t play for Norway in the Nations League which isn’t good for Arsenal’s chances in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s Current Challenges

With all these injuries Arsenal’s really seeing how important it is to have enough good players. Not having Saka Rice and Ødegaard around means they gotta think hard about their plans and how to get everyone healthy. They really need to figure this out if they wanna keep doing good in the Premier League.
