This way of playing lets players like Arda Güler connect the defense and attack really well. You could see this in the Juventus game especially after 40 minutes when Real Madrid got better. Alonso wants to get the best from players like Vinícius Júnior even though he didn’t do much in this game.

Arda Güler and Vinícius Júnior: Important Players in Alonso’s Team
In the way Alonso wants to play, Arda Güler is really important in midfield helping move the ball forward and keep it. His creative skills are super important for what Alonso wants to do. And Vinícius Júnior who’s really fast and good at dribbling, is supposed to use the spaces that open up because of how the team plays. He didn’t do much against Juventus but the way the team plays is meant to let him attack more freely. This is part of how Alonso wants the team to play with some structure but also freedom mixing defense and attack together.
Ancelotti’s Future and What Real Madrid Wants
While all this is happening, there’s also stuff going on with Carlo Ancelotti maybe leaving. Brazil’s football people want him to be their national team manager which could really change things at Real Madrid. Ancelotti’s got a contract with Real Madrid right now and some Saudi Arabian teams are offering him lots of money which makes everything more complicated. Whatever happens with the manager is gonna be really important not just for Real Madrid but for Brazilian football too.
