Jude Bellingham’s amazing rise at Real Madrid shows just how much pressure young footballers face these days. The English midfielder has become a really important player for the club real quick, showing off how good he is and how hard he works. His path from Birmingham City to Borussia Dortmund and then to Real Madrid in 2023 for loads of money has made everyone notice him. With 251 games played already Bellingham’s doing great but it makes you wonder if it’s too much for players nowadays.
- Jude Bellingham has played 251 games by age 21.
- His 2023/24 season stats show 27 goals and 15 assists.
- Florentino Pérez talks about looking after players and giving them rest.
Florentino Pérez’s Worries about Player Health
Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Pérez is worried about how many games young players like Jude Bellingham have to play. In a tweet by journalist Fabrizio Romano Pérez compared Bellingham’s 251 games to David Beckham’s 54 at the same age. It really shows how football’s changed with young players getting thrown in early. Pérez thinks players need proper rest so they don’t get hurt or burnt out.

Bellingham getting so good so quick at Real Madrid shows how much young players have to handle today. When he went from Birmingham City to Borussia Dortmund everyone could see he was special and when Real Madrid paid big money for him in 2023 it proved it. He’s already played 251 games and he’s doing amazing for his club and England. Looking at his 2023/24 season, he’s got 27 goals and 15 assists in all competitions. It’s amazing he can do this so young but it makes you think about whether it’s too much for players these days.
What This Means for Football’s Future
When you look at players like Bellingham, you really see why we need to talk about how much players are playing. While Real Madrid wants to win everything they gotta think about keeping their players healthy too. What Pérez says fits with what everyone’s talking about – how do you manage young players careers without messing up their health? Makes you think maybe we need to change how we do training and plan matches in the big European leagues.
