The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is trying to get Carlo Ancelotti to manage the national team while there’s still questions with Real Madrid. Abel Ferreira could be the backup choice if they can’t get Ancelotti but they still need to talk with Palmeiras about it. Making things more complicated Saudi Arabia is throwing big money at Ancelotti which is making everything harder.

  • CBF is talking to Carlo Ancelotti about coaching the national team
  • Abel Ferreira might be the second choice if they can’t get Ancelotti
  • Saudi Arabian clubs are offering lots of money to Ancelotti

Ancelotti’s Potential Move to Brazil

Carlo Ancelotti who’s managing Real Madrid right now, might become the new coach for the Brazilian national football team. CBF has wanted him since March 2025 to lead Brazil in upcoming games and the 2026 FIFA World Cup. But there’s problems with his Real Madrid contract and they need to figure out how much money they’ll pay to end it early. Making everything more complicated Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia is offering him like €50 million each season. With all his Champions League wins and stuff everyone wants him as their manager.

Abel Ferreira: Brazil’s Plan B

If they can’t get Ancelotti, Abel Ferreira who’s doing really good at Palmeiras could be next in line. Ferreira has won a lot at Palmeiras including the Copa Libertadores and shown he knows what he’s doing. But he says they gotta talk to Palmeiras first – specifically Ednaldo Rodrigues from CBF needs to talk to Leila Pereira who runs Palmeiras. This shows he really cares about doing things right with his current team.

Implications for Brazilian Football

This whole manager situation is really important for Brazilian football everywhere. CBF wants someone big like Ancelotti cause they wanna do better in world football. And having Ferreira as an option shows how good the Brasileirão league is getting. Everyone in football is watching to see who ends up getting the job to lead Brazil next.
